The Museum

Today Room's 15 and 6 went for a bus trip to the museum. When we got out of the bus we went inside and got split into two groups, one group went to see the cosmodome and the other group went with Awhina to watch a slide show about the stars and what people did in the olden days to celebrate Matariki. I went into the cosmodome first. When we got there we had to get our shoes off and then go in. When we got inside we sat down on the cushions and looked up at the roof. A cosmodome is a huge blown up tent sort of thing which you get a projector put it in there and you can see pictures of what ever is in the computer screen. We saw lots and lots of stars and learnt some stories about constellations. The guy that was inside with us told us a story about Orion's belt and the scorpion which are both constellations. Then we had to hop out and go with Awhina into a different room. In the room were Awhina was there was also a projector but we didn't go in a cosmodome. First she took us through a slide show of some of the stars names like Matariki and Puanga. Then she showed us some pictures of what they used to do in the olden days to celebrate. We learnt about what the kids used to play with and what they did to get food. Once we finished the slide show we did a haka and sung a song.

One day there was a someone called Jake who lived in a mountain called Ze-da-gon the most dangerous mountain in the world. Inside the mountain it was exactly like a Jungle except there were Terradaptle's, T-rex's and all sorts of dinosaurs. Jake lived in a bamboo house with all sorts of cool things like a queen sized bed and he even had his own 42 inch plasma tv screen. So back to the story Jake was going for a walk in the jungle trying to find some fruit when he saw a huge big fat orange thing sitting in the way of the banana tree. He got a stick and pocked it once twice three times, suddenly it moved then he came closer not knowing that it was a   huge snake. Then he finally noticed. Chasing him through the jungle was a terrifying orange slimy python with poisoning fangs and scary red eyes. Jake had to hurry away is well as find a spot where the snake will not be able to get him. Then Jake saw a huge big long tree. Jake thought that if he could quickly climb up the tree the terrifying snake wouldn't get him. So he got up to the top and had a look down but he couldn't see the snake. He thought he might take a risk and climb down. When he got down he had a look around but there was no sign of any thing so he walked home. He sure was hungry but at least he was safe at home. In the morning he woke up and had apple and peach porridge his favorite. Then he went out to go get some fruit again. This time there was no big fat orange slimy snake with terrible red eyes. So all was calm in fact to calm. He got his bananas and strawberries and walked home. When he got home he did the dishes only hearing the sound of the birds chatting to each other. When he had  done his dishes he went for a walk. Still all was calm. He walked further and further away from his home but it was ok cause he knew the jungle back to front. Suddenly he herd a rumble a roar, the volcano was going to errupte in a couple of hours Jake had to run home and get out of the volcano...

Today in felts writing group we have been learning about personification. Here is some of my examples:

The wind shouted.
The car roared .
The felt screamed.
The stars winked to me.
The leaves whistled .

To do personification you have to compare something with something that a human would say/do.

The good thing about rules is that they keep every thing in place because if there were no rules then maybe our class room would be all messy and every thing would be like of the movie Kindergarten Cop. It makes the world a better place.

Minus:
There is one bad thing is that some bad people dont follow the rules and laws like drink driving.

Interesting:
The interesting thing is that some people don't follow the rules.

Rules And Laws - Whats The Difference?

A rule is something made by a group of people that we have to follow and not enforced by the police.

A law is something that if you break it you go to court and a judge or jury would decide the consequence.

The difference between a law and a rule is that laws are enforced by the police and  they are legal rules . If you break a law you can go to court and a jury or a judge decides what action will be taken. There are rules and regulations that we need to follow.

If the law about drink driving was not made then I think that  more people would be drinking and driving then many more people would be dying and getting injured.
