Fall
Fall, which is also called ___autumn__________, is the ____season________ when the leaves ___change__________ color and fall to the ___ground____________. In North America, it is also the season when kids head ____back__________ to school.

The Weather

Fall begins with warm weather in ___November___________, but as the season continues into ___September___________ and ___October_____________, the sun ____sets_________ earlier and earlier everyday and the weather becomes ______chilly_________. And so, people put away their shorts and t-shirts and take out their __sweaters____________ and ____coats_________

The Harvest

In fall, __farmers___________ are busy working in their fields. They have to _________harvest_____ their crops before the cold of winter comes. ______pumpkins______, now big and orange, are ready for making pies. ___corn________ quickly ripens on the cob. Wine makers pick their plump, juicy, purple _____grapes__________ from the vine. ______scarecrows_________ stand guard in the fields to keep the ____crows__________ from stealing the crops ______before________ the farmers can gather them.

The Country

If you are fortunate, you can visit the __country__________ in the fall and see the spectacular ___foliage___________ on the trees as the leaves change to ___red__________, __orange__________, brown, and __yellow____________.  Overhead, birds are _____migrating__________, heading south to their winter homes.
