CO2 Cars

In Room 15 we are designing our CO2 cars. Instead of racing each other in our class we are going to go  BEYOND just our class we are going to invite Room 5 and Room 6. Last week we started to design our cars on a piece of paper and a small group of others wrote a letter inviting the two other classes. My CO2 cars name is going to be called The Flying Unicorn. My CO2 car is going to be pure white with blue racing lines on the side, in words The Flying Unicorn, a lightning bolt and a small picture of a grey unicorn. On Room 5's blog they have made a sticky when everybody can say what makes a winning CO2 car. If I had won the CO2 car race I would be amazed and very surprised.

Reading Activity

Application
Dear High Bar,
I am so sorry about my poor behaviour with you. I should have not of been so angry and frustrated at the time. I had only acted like that because I am scared of you and because I always get hurt or fail when I try to do something, also because I have had a very embarrassing experience at the Junior National Championships. I had only wanted to be friends and next time I will not act like that.

Week 2 Reflection

WHAT: On Monday it was a public holiday for everyone so they didn't have to go to school or work. On Wednesday Room 15 went to badminton. First we did some stretches and then we got a racket and a shuttle and started to hit the shuttle up and down as many times as we could. Then we played a game and finally had a game of badminton. The first game we won 22-16 and the second game we won 12-8. On Thursday we had another session of Rippa Rugby. We had a fun game and it was really fair. I scored two tries and the score was 6-8 we won. We also have a new habit of mind .Taking responsible risks.

SO WHAT:
I learnt a new game and learnt how to hold a racket properly. I learnt a new habit of mind.

NOW WHAT:
My goal for this week was to learn some new geometry shapes and to get all of my work finished. I didn't get to learn some new geometry shapes so my goal for next week is to learn some more different shapes.

Rippa Rugby

On Thursday's in the afternoon we now go out and do Rippa Rugby sessions with two of the Wanganui rugby people. Last week it was our first week. We all had to run around in a square finding space by having our head up and using our eyes. The two coaches from the Wanganui team look for the people who are going into space using there eyes and having there head up. If they choose you for finding space you can choose a building to have like a chocolate factory, Rebel sports, a skate park or anything that you would like to have in that space. Then we played another game. There were two lines of us facing each other. Jordan one of the Wanganui rugby players gave us a number and when he called that number both of the people had to run to their end and try and dodge the other player to score a try. One of the people had to be a defender and one had to be an attacker.

My Wordle Contract

On Monday Mrs Larsen gave us a new contract sheet to do. There is 12 activities to do and I did a Wordle. For the Wordle I had to write down about how I would feel if I had won the CO2 final race.

Week 1 Reflection

WHAT: On Monday it was the first day of the term. We learnt how to do Geometry which is 3d shapes and 2D shapes. We also did a Geometry picture and we had to make a picture of something that was just made out of 2D shapes. On Wednesday we did an underwater picture. We had to get three colours, purple, green and blue and then rip some newspaper into long strips of seaweed. We glue them on and dye it with a blue or green. On Thursday we did some more art. We got eight pieces of paper and we had to paint them with sponges and do lots of patterns, blending two colours and mixing two colours. We are now trying out a new maths website called Mathletics. Later on in the day we had a little rippa rugby session with one of the Wanganui players. For this week we also got a new habits of mind which is taking responsible risks and we designed our CO2 cars on a piece of paper.
SO WHAT: I learnt some new rippa rugby moves and I learnt what Geometry was. I learnt some different techniques in art with using sponges and cardboard. I also learnt a new website.
NOW WHAT: My goal for next week is to learn some more geometry shapes and to get all of my work finished.

Geometry Maths

For maths Mrs Larsen showed us some different shapes in geometry. I had never known what geometry was . Geometry is all kinds of different shapes. We learnt some different 3D shapes like the dodecahedron which has twenty sides. Then we had to make a picture of something that is only made out of shapes. Here is mine.

My Holiday

WOW! These ducks are so funny, they can’t tell where we threw the bread to them.  We slowly walked around the lake just admiring the giant, green trees they were just standing still. We saw lots of different kinds of trees, birds, ducks and we even saw a rooster running around the lake having fun. When we got to the end we all sat down and had an ice cream. It was really yum and I am looking forward to the next time I go to the lake.
