My Poem

My family is like an action fairy tale.
My Dad is the king.
He is strong and brave and he is the one who leads us.
My Mum is the beautiful Queen.
She is always smelling nice and is the one who protects us with her fierceness.
My Brother is the funny joker.
He is always trying to make people laugh by being silly.
My Cat is the sneaky scout.
He is really sneaky and can take out his prey in a second.
My family is an action fairy tale.
My family likes to have fun.

Blog Post

This week is the last week of school. I cannot wait until it is the holidays and when it is Christmas.  I will also miss school is well because I will have nothing to do and it will be pretty boring at times. It is my last year at this school as well, so the year 6's are having a big day out and are going out for our leavers dinner. We are also doing social dancing. Today we had social dancing. It is really boring but we have to do it. There are seven different dances that we have to learn. It is really hard learning all of the footsteps but when you learn them they are all really easy to do.

Blog Post

This week was the last week of badminton. We all arrived there and did our stretches. We did lots of different stretches because otherwise we could really damage our body. For our game we played a game that we had all ready played. It was the paper, scissors, rock game when we had run up to each other and do paper, scissors, rock and whoever won had to run up to the next person until they got out by losing or by passing the line to get a point. Then we learnt a new trick in badminton, the one that everybody had been waiting to do. We would hit the shuttle up and then catch it perfectly on the racket. It was really hard but I finally could do it after a lot of practices. Then we got into our games of badminton. It was 2v2. It was hard facing somebody different every match because everybody had different techniques and so we had to get use to them in a couple of minutes. Finally after a long session of badminton it was time to walk back to school.

Contract

Commonality
What does a dog and a CO2 car have in common?
1. A dog and a CO2 car both go fast.
2. They are both loud sometimes.
3. They both have gas.
4. A CO2 car has 4 wheels and a dog has 4 legs.
5. They can both be a different colour.

Week 4 Reflection

WHAT: On Monday we had Mrs Calman. On Tuesday we had social dancing practice and we got to go swimming. On Wednesday we went to our final badminton session and we had a Zirka Circus show to see what it would be like if we went. It was really amazing what some people can do being flexible and balanced.    On Tuesday we got to start our CO2 cars and got to go swimming. On Friday we are finishing our CO2 cars and are having assembly.

SO WHAT: I learnt a lot about CO2 cars like what makes them go which is the CO2 canisters obviously and how to make them.

NOW WHAT: My goal for this week was to finish my work so we could go  swimming or to be able to go outside and play a game. I am happy with my goal because I was able to do that and my goal for next week is to finish my CO2 car so that we can race them.

Week 7 Reflection

WHAT:On Monday we had a star test and we started to write a big long story about each day of camp and the teachers will pick the best stories on each day and will put them in the newspaper. On Tuesday we had our first practice of social dancing and wrote about our second day of camp. We also had been planning a boys night out for Room 15 and Room 6 at 7-9 so our parents can come over and see how well we are doing while we got to watch a movie and eat pizza. On Wednesday we went to badminton. On Thursday we had social dancing and got to go swimming. On Friday are having a WIS test and had assembly.
SO WHAT: I learnt how to dance at social dancing with how the footsteps work.

NOW WHAT: My goal for this week was to get all of my work done on time so that we could go outside for a swim or go outside and have free time. I think that I have done that well because I got to go swimming and I got all of my work finished.

Get Ready To Get Thru

For our Reading Activity we made a poster about what to do when there is a thunder storm. It is very important to know what to do in a situation like this.

Week 5 Reflection

WHAT:On Monday we had Mrs Calman. We still did our normal reading, writing and maths rotations. On Tuesday we had the senior school athletics. There were six events sprints, long distance, vortex,  shot put, high jump and long jump. We got a new Habit of Mind which is Finding Humour. On Wednesday we had badminton. First we did our stretches and then we played a game. After that we played on a full court two v two. Then we had a small competition were there would be one court but two people on each side using half a court. It was really challenging using only half. On Thursday after lunch we had Mr Petersen while Mrs Larsen was out of the room for a while.

SO WHAT: I learnt a new badminton grip called the backhand grip. I learnt a new habit of mind which is finding humour and I learnt a new game.

NOW WHAT:  My goal for this week was to finish my art work and I was able to on time but I didn't get to go out for a swim because there wasn't enough people who brought there togs. My goal for next week is to get all of my work done on time so we can either go outside for a game or go swimming.

Athletics

On Tuesday the senior school had athletics. There were six events high jump, long distance, sprints, long jump, shot put and vortex. First of  all we lined up in our age groups and then we walked off to our first event. We had heats and finals in every event but the event that I found was the hardest was sprints. In the heats I came first but in the finals I came 4th.

Our Assembly Play

In Room 15 we did a play called the three little pigs, a wolf and a mud pie. I am Tac one of the three pigs. I am one of the main people along with Tic, Toe and the wolf. Being an all boys class some of us had to be girls with wigs and dresses on and it really made the whole junior school laugh. At first I thought that I was never going to learn my lines in one week but luckily I learnt them the day before the item. Then the next day it was assembly day. I was feeling very nervous in front of everybody but once I  had done the first scene I didn't feel nervous at all.  I was one of the three pigs. I wore a pig mask and a red shirt. At some parts of the play it was really funny like when we did a big dance along with a song.

When the play had finished I really wanted to carry on because I was having lots and lots of fun. Then when we got back in class we had lots of teachers coming in and giving us comments about our play. I felt really relieved that we had finished. I can't wait to do our next assembly item and I wonder what it will be about.

Reading Activity-Evaluation

Evaluation
Gymnastics is too dangerous because:
If you were young you could fall of the high bar and break one of your bones.
You could slip off something and hurt yourself or maybe break your neck.
If you try to do a trick you could accidently fail and really hurt yourself.

Gymnastics isn’t dangerous because:
If you start young and each day take little steps to harder and harder things later on in life you will be used to them and you will be able to do the hard things easier.
You have soft mats to fall on to if you accidently fall.

Week 3 Reflection

WHAT: On Monday we had bike safety with Constable Val. We all brought our bikes to school to go around a bike circuit without going off. There was a small ramp,  two U turns, a ladder and a stop sign that we used the stop signal on. On Wednesday we had badminton. First we did our stretches, then we had a game, and finally we had a little competition. We had five games each and the winner would go right onto the next court and the the person who lost had to go the back a court. On Thursday we got to go swimming in our school pool. It was funny because Isaiah, Tarron and Keylen went in there undies. For art we are painting our initials but we have to do them with other sections so you cannot notice them. I think that my one will look really cool. Our habits of mind is taking responsible risks. In class we talked about what a responsible and what a irresponsible risk is.

SO WHAT: I learnt how to do a backhand fore grip in badminton. I learnt a new habit of mind and I learnt some more things about bike safety like why we wear a helmet properly.

NOW WHAT: My goal was to get all of my work finished. I think I have done that because I got to have free time in the swimming pool. My goal for next week is to finish my art work and to be able to go swimming again.

My Logo - Contract

Responsible Or Irresponsible Character

Trap, a very bad joker.
For our habits of mind we have been doing responsible risks. So for our habits of mind we got a picture of someone who takes responsible or irresponsible risks from a book because without a risk taker it wouldn't be a fun or interesting book. For my character I did Trap from the book Geronimo Stilton. I think that he is an irresponsible risk taker because he always does jokes on Geronimo that could be very frightening or could even injure him very badly. Trap does jokes like putting a whole bottle of chilly sauce in Geronimo's burger.

CO2 Cars

In Room 15 we are designing our CO2 cars. Instead of racing each other in our class we are going to go  BEYOND just our class we are going to invite Room 5 and Room 6. Last week we started to design our cars on a piece of paper and a small group of others wrote a letter inviting the two other classes. My CO2 cars name is going to be called The Flying Unicorn. My CO2 car is going to be pure white with blue racing lines on the side, in words The Flying Unicorn, a lightning bolt and a small picture of a grey unicorn. On Room 5's blog they have made a sticky when everybody can say what makes a winning CO2 car. If I had won the CO2 car race I would be amazed and very surprised.

Reading Activity

Application
Dear High Bar,
I am so sorry about my poor behaviour with you. I should have not of been so angry and frustrated at the time. I had only acted like that because I am scared of you and because I always get hurt or fail when I try to do something, also because I have had a very embarrassing experience at the Junior National Championships. I had only wanted to be friends and next time I will not act like that.

Rippa Rugby

On Thursday's in the afternoon we now go out and do Rippa Rugby sessions with two of the Wanganui rugby people. Last week it was our first week. We all had to run around in a square finding space by having our head up and using our eyes. The two coaches from the Wanganui team look for the people who are going into space using there eyes and having there head up. If they choose you for finding space you can choose a building to have like a chocolate factory, Rebel sports, a skate park or anything that you would like to have in that space. Then we played another game. There were two lines of us facing each other. Jordan one of the Wanganui rugby players gave us a number and when he called that number both of the people had to run to their end and try and dodge the other player to score a try. One of the people had to be a defender and one had to be an attacker.

My Wordle Contract

On Monday Mrs Larsen gave us a new contract sheet to do. There is 12 activities to do and I did a Wordle. For the Wordle I had to write down about how I would feel if I had won the CO2 final race.

My Holiday

WOW! These ducks are so funny, they can’t tell where we threw the bread to them.  We slowly walked around the lake just admiring the giant, green trees they were just standing still. We saw lots of different kinds of trees, birds, ducks and we even saw a rooster running around the lake having fun. When we got to the end we all sat down and had an ice cream. It was really yum and I am looking forward to the next time I go to the lake.

We had Phillipa Baker Hogan, a gold medalist in the 1992's hand out our medals. When she came in she talked to us all about persisting and her Olympics life. Personification
My town: Wanganui
The river roars underneath the bridge as the swings in the park jump back and forwards. The lake stays still in stealth mode while the trees gossip to each other on the nice summer day. The libary quietly whispers shhhhhh! As the schools are all quite with boringness. The city is overloaded with people when the country side whispers.
That's my town Wanganui.
